April 16, 2022
Dear Shoals Club Member:
Spring has sprung here at the Shoals Club and what a beautiful time of
year to enjoy the quiet surroundings. We just completed our first
winter open and we thank all those members that came to support the
Club. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting many members and I look forward to
meeting many more of you over the next few months as we welcome the
summer season.
I am proud to say that we are now a 12-month operation serving food and
beverages, while also offering recreational activities, like dance
lessons, cornhole tournaments and arts & crafts. We look forward to
implementing more over the next year. We welcome your suggestions for
activities you would like to see at the Shoals Club throughout the
year.
This past winter, we conducted many projects, mostly behind the scenes
that will improve member services and enhance staff performance. In
addition, we are completing our new pool cabana which will host pool
towels, pool supplies, new apparel, convenient sun lotion and
accessories available for purchase.
As we reported back in the beginning of March, our beach fence has been
repaired and rebuilt. The fence has provided added protection for our
kiddie pool and recreational area, which is being redesigned with a
volleyball court, ping pong, foosball, and activity area for children
of all ages.
Updated landscaping is also being installed throughout the Club.
As of April 1, the pool has reopened! The recreational team led by
Alicia Sides has been busy creating a fun-filled activities calendar
for this season. Make sure you check out the website at www.shoalsclub.com to see more
information. The pool area offers a new location for the “Members Only”
section, which will have direct views of the Atlantic Ocean, while
offering newly restrung lounge chairs, new lounge chair covers and
towels, as well as plenty of shade for those that want it, with new
umbrellas. In addition, new umbrellas have been ordered for the entire
pool and beach, along with additional beach chairs.
As many of you are aware, the Sandbar Grille was not able to operate
last season due to low staffing levels. I am happy to report that the
Sandbar Grille will be open this season! Senior Executive Chef Caitlyn
Kocsis and Executive Chef Keith Doherty have planned out new menus to
tempt your palate while relaxing at the Club. Thank you to the Shoals
Club Advisory Board for their help with menu feedback and suggestions.
We are also happy to reintroduce Taco Tuesday and BBQ Thursday at the
Sandbar Grille starting in June. Keep an eye out for the hours of
operation as we look to further expand our dining hours at the end of
May.
While being open this past winter, we learned specialty menus were very
well received by our members. This has inspired us to do other fun
events, like well-supported wine/beer dinners to some other events like
an Oyster Roast, Cheeseburgers in Paradise, and Family Fun Nights.
Michelle Alexander, our Sandbar Grille/Events Manager has done a lot of
work on organizing the details for these club events. Michelle is
looking forward to this year’s Labor Day Weekend Event, it will be sure
to make you hot and cold in exciting ways. Speaking of events, the
Shoals Club is a premier location for weddings in the Spring and Fall,
it is a perfect backdrop for one of life’s most special occasions. This
year we have twenty weddings at the Shoals Club. Already married? How
about renewing your vows? We can plan an event for any size gathering.
Our premier dining venue, Aqua, has now been combined with Verandahs.
This means all the great food selections of both locations to be served
indoors or outdoors. Paul Nee, our Restaurant Manager is available to
help with making your visit special. Reservations are required and may
be made on the new Club App or by calling the Club. The Shoals Club is your home away home, if there is
something we can make, just let us know and we will do our best to
accommodate your request. Latitudes is available with Tapas selections;
no reservations are needed.
Last year the club announced the implementation of the ClubNow App, did you download it? The app can
supply an electronic membership card, make reservations, see upcoming
events, order from a takeout menu, and check out your account balance.
I mention this again, since this technology will provide you with many
convenient benefits, like ordering food and beverage from the beach or
pool side. If you stop and get one of our new chaise lounge flags from
our new pool cabana, we will be able to deliver your order poolside.
With everything we are planning, we strive to exceed member
expectations. While doing this, we must closely monitor our member and
temporary usage to ensure we deliver appropriate service. You recently
received notice that Shoals Club membership has been limited to 900
members, when this cap is reached membership will no longer be
available (click
here to see the notice). We have 118 memberships available,
and we have received communication from over 50 other BHI Club members
who are planning to join the Shoals Club in the next six weeks. In
addition, we are limiting temporary member and guest usage to protect
our club member’s experience. Please see the attached 2022 pricing
structure for full and temporary memberships. Connie Moore, our
Membership Director is available to aid with any membership questions.
Shoals Club membership dues are billed on a twelve-month fiscal year of
May 1–April 30. The dues rate for 2022-2023 as approved by the BHI Club
Board of Directors, is $3,900 or $325/month for those paying monthly.
Dues for unimproved home site owners is one-half of the regular dues
rate - $1,950 or $163 per month. Members electing to pay dues annually
in advance will receive a $100 gift certificate to be used in one of
the Shoals Club food and beverage outlets. Full annual payment must be
received by May 6, 2022.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to offer any exceptions to the early
payment deadline
The Shoals Club continues to be a popular island destination for your
guests. In you are renting or planning to rent your home, please ensure
you have registered for the Member’s Rental Program, which can be done
on our website, www.shoalsclub.com.
Please inform your temporary rental guests that they should register at
least 5 days in advance to avoid a late fee, however we advise
registration earlier, as we are only allowing a limited amount of
temporary members per week.
Please see the attached
Membership Purchase Price Sheet for detailed pricing throughout the
season.
Annual Passes are available for members’ children who are over the age
of 22 and parents, grandparents, and grandchildren of members. Any
guests who are accompanying you when you visit the Shoals Club are
considered “accompanied guests,” and it is not necessary to make any
special arrangements for these guests. Unaccompanied guests must be
either temporary members or annual pass holders. Annual passes allow
unaccompanied access to the Shoals Club at any time during the year and
are available to any of the family members mentioned above. The cost of
the annual pass is $390 for an individual (or $780 for a couple or
family).
We look forward to a great season at the Shoals Club where you will
experience first-class dining and beach club activities in an
incomparable oceanfront setting. The entire Shoals Club staff looks
forward to making each of your visits to the Club a memorable
experience. We hope to see you soon. Please stay healthy and safe.
